HVEDP is a public-private partnership that was established by an act
of the Connecticut legislature in 1992 to oversee the creation and
implementation of a strategic economic development plan for the Housatonic
Valley Region. The region is composed of the ten towns in the Greater
Danbury area and includes the municipalities of Bethel, Bridgewater,
Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown Redding, cigarette electronique,
Ridgefield and Sherman. In addition, HVEDP's 23-member board of directors
is broadly representative of the public, private and not-for-profit
sectors in the region.
